About

Hi, I’m Melanie. I view therapy as a collaborative journey where we explore your inner world with warmth, curiosity, and compassion. My role is to be a witness and guide, helping you navigate your experiences, emotions, and beliefs while supporting your unique needs and goals. Together, we will honour the sources of strength and beauty that already exist within you, fostering growth and healing. I have experience working with clients who feel stuck, struggle with self-doubt, or are navigating difficult transitions, as well as those facing challenges related to anxiety, depression, grief, or relationship issues. I also help clients gain insight into their relational patterns, fostering deeper connections and healthier communication with others. Over the years, I’ve worked with individuals to uncover the tools and insights that empower them to move forward in alignment with their goals and values. Whatever you bring to the therapeutic space, my priority is to create an environment where you feel safe, valued, and seen. Therapy can provide the opportunity to process complex emotions, heal old wounds, and rediscover yourself in new and meaningful ways. I bring empathy, thoughtfulness, and an open heart to this process, helping you cultivate a kinder, more compassionate relationship with yourself. From this foundation of self-understanding and care, you can begin to find clarity, connection, and confidence. My approach is psychodynamic and integrative. This means we’ll consider how your past experiences, relationships, and patterns shape your present, while tailoring our work to meet your unique needs and goals. I also draw from mindfulness-based strategies, reflective exercises, and self-compassion practices to support your growth. My 15 years experience as a university professor, teaching courses on well-being, mindfulness, and self-compassion inform my work, enabling me to provide practical tools to help you navigate life’s challenges. Life is hard. Whether you’re seeking to better understand yourself, improve your relationships, or find a way forward through a difficult season, therapy can be a powerful way to get unstuck, gain clarity, and build a deeper sense of self-connection. I welcome the opportunity to work with you to create a path that feels authentic and empowering. If this resonates with you, I hope you will take the next step and contact me for an initial consultation to see if we’re a good fit.
